FAQ - Frequently asked questions

How can I get an appointment?

You can arrange an appointment by phoning: +49 (0)221 – 870 88 88.
If you phone us Monday through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 12 a.m. you will be given your first appointment within three working days.

Do I have to pay anything?

If you are a non-private patient i.e. are insured with the statutory insurance companies (e.g. A.O.K.) and bring a valid referral with you, then you do not need to pay anything for the non-privately insured treatment.
If you would like to have additional services, then a separate treatment contract with you is concluded. As a rule you have to pay for such services yourself.
For operations carried out on an outpatient basis no extra payment has to be made.

How much time would the doctor have for me?

Well-informed patients who observe their own healing processes attentively will regain good health more quickly than those who do not. So you determine the duration of the contact with a doctor during not only the first appointment but also during later crucial decisions concerning the treatment (e.g. informing patient about an operation). There is always enough time to respond thoroughly to all your questions, where necessary during a second conversation.

Is more than one method of treatment considered?

We direct proposals concerning methods of treatment to responsible and mature patients. They decide – together with the doctor as adviser – what will take place. If a suggested treatment is not acceptable to a patient, the doctor then works out an alternative, and points out possible differences in the outcomes. If the doctor comes to the conclusion that another specialised medical discipline or an alternative form of treatment would be able to achieve more, then he / she would provide a patient with a suitable contact.
