Dr. Martin Edelmann
Dr. Martin Edelmann developed the ideas that underpin goChirurgie.
Dr. Edelmann has been working as a physician since 1983.
He is married with five children.
He says about his work up till now as a surgeon: "I have received a great deal of positive feedback concerning my profession as a doctor. However, as well as that people have repeatedly made comments about long waiting-times: either it was the difficulty of reaching me on the telephone, or waiting times at my practice, or even a long wait for appointments both for operations and treatment."
In response to these negative factors, his idea grew of a practice for surgery that never wavered in prioritising service: goChirurgie.
My resumé summarised:
- October 2006 I founded and opened goChirurgie – Zentrum für Chirurgie (Centre for surgery).
- From 1993 till October 2006, together with some colleagues in the same specialised field, I set myself up as a surgeon whose main focuses are outpatient operations orthopaedic – surgical.
- Since 1993 I have had the authorisation needed to take part in further training in the field of surgery.
- 1993 Medical examiner of the Berufsgenossenschaften. (professional association by the name "D-Arzt")
- 1992 I acquired the right to call myself "Accident Surgeon" i.e. a sub-set of a specialised field.
- Until 1991 I had been training to become a surgeon.
Facts:
- Up till now I have performed 5,000 operations.
- I have written a number of scientific papers and a scientific study concerning the advantages of "Krankengymnastik beim Schleudertrauma der Halswirbelsäule" [Physiotherapy for whiplash of cervical vertebra] with R. Hüser, doctor for industrial medicine: this paper led to cervical collars / neck braces no longer being used after a rear-end collision. Since then physiotherapy has been recommended as the best form of healing.
